Reunited and It Feels So Good

"It's like we're all waking up from our summer vacations," said Ryan McNamara . "We're back from New Mexico, we're back from the Hamptons, and we all look cute and tan—they really make us hit the ground running!" Style.com spotted the performance artist at the closing night festivities for Rachel Feinstein 's Madison Square Park sculpture exhibition Folly, one of the first events in what is sure to be a party-crazed NYFW. ("Shit won't look good by the end of the week," McNamara joked.) The bash, held at the cavernous NeueHouse, included a rather epic performance Feinstein created for the sculptures' final hours. "I was watching people in the park walking on the sculptures, letting their kids play on them and doing selfies, and I thought, This is so much cooler than when they're just sitting by themselves!" she said. "The Last Days of Folly" featured contributions from Sofia Coppola (who also designed a special wine can for the party), Jarvis Cocker, Narciso Rodriguez, Giles Deacon, and a host of other creatives. "It was like a dream," Feinstein said.

Farther downtown at Mr. Chow's, Jennifer Fisher celebrated her Madison Avenue flagship opening. "It's been so many years and I've worked so hard to get here," Fisher said, "and now to have a space where people can shop daily—it's an incredible feeling." The crowd included friends and supporters, like Leandra Medine, Hilary Rhoda , and cohost Joan Smalls . "What Jennifer does is so beautiful," said the model. "The way she designs is so edgy but feminine. I'm just here to celebrate her talent!" A block away, at the penthouse of The Greenwich Hotel, Joie's Serge Azria threw a relaxed dinner of Locanda Verde-prepared English pea soup, crispy polenta, and lamb meatballs for the likes of Kate Young , Josephine Skriver , and Garance Doré. "It's all family around here," said Jessica Hart from the room's tree-covered terrace.

Meet Bill

This isn't Mayor Bill de Blasio 's first New York fashion week in office, but we'll let last season's lack of participation slip. The man had only been sworn in just a few weeks prior. Now, eight months into his tenure, the mayor has had a bit more time to strategize a vision, enlist allies, and execute a plan—and it's an ambitious one. Last night, fashion's heavy hitters were summoned to Yorkville for a cocktail party at Gracie Mansion officially kicking off the week's festivities and announcing three new initiatives out of City Hall: a NYC Capsule Collection to help local designers produce and sell locally; an expanded "Made in NYC" branding program; and the first two Fashion Production Fund awards given to Karolina Zmarlak and Rosie Assoulin.

Part of the fun was getting to snoop around Gracie Mansion. Fashion rarely heads so far uptown, let alone to the mayor's home, so the night nearly felt like a group field trip. "There's lawn bowling out on the lawn!" said Tanya Taylor, "and I think the mayor is meeting in a back room with some important people." Rebecca Minkoff was equally thrilled: "I mean, we go to parties all the time, but as soon as I started walking up the steps here, it just hit me: I've got to get it together, this is Gracie."

Having worked with two mayors in City Hall now, the CFDA's Steven Kolb had only good things to say about De Blasio. "In this regard the two men [De Blasio and Michael Bloomberg] have more similarities than differences. Both are extremely eager to work with us and understand that fashion is really a central part of this city's economy and identity." No kidding—Kolb pointed out that fashion employs 180,000 New Yorkers. "I think the fact that we are kicking the week off at Gracie Mansion says a lot about [De Blasio's] enthusiasm," Kolb added.

Perhaps the most enthusiastic guest last night was Chiara de Blasio , who, in the face of a fashion emergency (her father shared that she was unable to find a suitable lipstick for the occasion), decided to mix her own cerulean lipstick at home. As for the mayor himself, his fashion emergencies are of a much more ordinary nature. He told Style.com: "I have a habit of stopping at whatever deli or bodega looks interesting, then hopping back in the car on the phone. A few ties and shirts have suffered along the way…food of all nations plus the phone plus driving is probably not the smartest thing."

The Gang's All Here

It was fashion central at Cherche Midi last night, where Trademark's Pookie and Louisa Burch were celebrating their first-ever store with a post-opening dinner for 100. In one corner Ashley Olsen , in another Olivier Theyskens , and sprinkled among the tables at Keith McNally's new hot spot, other members of the Burch clan, including papa Christopher , former stepmom Tory , and sister Izzie. Burch père interrupted dinner to make a speech: "I'm fortunate enough to be Pookie and Louisa's partner, and I mean that like this [makes finger quotes], which means, 'Dad, we grew up with you and Mom, we know what we're doing, please stay away.'" Big round of applause.

What Cara Wants

Untamed but civilized, quirky yet tasteful—you could describe both Cara Delevingne and the U.K.'s Wilderness Festival that way. "I am British and this is a very British festival, so it just makes a whole lot of sense to me," said Delevingne about the decision to launch her new bag collection, designed with another very British institution, Mulberry, at the weekend-long event. Glancing around at the gorgeous walled garden on a countryside estate in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, she added, "This is all so me."

Now in its fourth year, the Wilderness Festival brings together musical, culinary, literary, and theatrical stars. This year's headliners were London Grammar, Metronomy, Burt Bacharach, Jessie Ware, and Sam Smith. Mulberry's picnic, complete with a goodie-bag-stuffed vintage Land Rover dubbed the Cara-van, was a bustling get-together of London friends and familiar industry faces. Actor Douglas Booth said he'd known Delevingne for a long time. Also on hand: model Jade Parfitt , stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington, and cofounder of the Storm modeling agency Simon Chambers.

The model of the moment sported her new Cara Delevingne bag in oxblood natural leather. Its removable shoulder straps mean it can be worn as a tote or as a backpack; she said she was keen to create a collection that could keep up with the pace of a busy modern woman. That would explain why MyTheresa's buying director, Justin O'Shea , had his eye on the collection six months ago. He summarized, "It's very cool, very young, and very trendy."

World of Interiors

A store party on a summer Friday? It happened in L.A. this weekend, when Nicole Richie , florist Eric Buterbaugh , and Nevena Borissova celebrated interior designer Ryan Korban and his new book, Ryan Korban: Luxury Redefined, at Borissova's West Hollywood store, Curve. "He's a young designer who does retail very well," said Borissova, who collaborated with Korban on her Bond Street outpost. "We wanted to give him a big welcome to L.A.," she continued, pointing to walls plastered with life-size imagery from the book, which combines photos of interiors he's decorated and visuals from photographers like Inez & Vinoodh, Helmut Newton, and Peter Lindbergh that continue to inspire him.

Amber Valletta , Jessica Joffe , and Langley Fox all turned out to raise a glass. "When I'm in New York, I tend to go fashion-heavy," Korban said of setting the event in L.A., where he spends a good amount of time furniture shopping and immersing himself in the interior-design world. "I felt like here we should mix it up a bit and bring interesting people together and get them excited about interior design." One such enthusiast has been Alexander Wang , who enlisted Korban to decorate both his loft apartment and Soho flagship store, and also contributed to the book. "I think Ryan has incredible taste and really knows how to cater it to all different types of personalities," Wang said. "He's very aware of environments and how to make that environment play a big role, in the same way that I do in clothes and accessories."

The beauty of the annual Watermill Center Benefit is that you can always expect the unexpected. Nudity, erotic sculptures, and a surprise appearance by Lady Gaga have been part of past years' programming. "Oh, my God, one woman over there is standing in a deep hole in the ground, wearing a costume and singing opera," Constance Jablonski , a first-timer at the party, told Style.com. "I just took off my heels to walk through the woods. It's art anyways, right? Part of the concept is to wear bare feet."

In fact, the official concept for this year's bash was "One Thousand Nights and One Night: Sleepless Nights of Sheherazade." The dress code? "Bazaar chic." Of his black-and-gold caftan, the Center's artistic director, Robert Wilson , said, "This was given to me as a gift by my friend Sheikha Paula Al-Sabah , the first lady of Kuwait [and the evening's honoree], just for tonight." After placing their final bids on silent auction items (which included front-row seats at the Fall 2015 Prada and Fendi runway shows) and taking in Wilson's portraits of Lady Gaga, which made their U.S. premiere at the event after their stint at the Louvre, guests made their way to the dinner. "The Lady Gaga work is one of the greatest pieces of art, ever," said Al-Sabah. "In fact, I own five of them in my collection because they are so stunning." By the end of the night, she had helped raise a record $2.2 million to support the Center's International Summer Program and year-round Artist Residency Program.

Over in Amagansett, at the home of Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld , Giorgio Armani underwrote a summer dinner for the charity Baby Buggy. The organization donates "gently used but totally usable" baby goods to families in need. Nacho Figueras , Kourtney Kardashian , and Kirna Zabête's Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini were among those who turned out. "I'm just glad the party is finally here. There was just so much prep in getting everything ready," Ms. Seinfeld said.

Lots of prep, indeed: Dinner was held under a massive white tent on her front lawn, not too far from Mr. Seinfeld's iconic baseball diamond. We asked if she had any secrets for playing hostess at an outdoor party. "Don't fear a flat. I retire my heels for the summer. I think a flat for evening in the summer is so chic, and my husband thinks it's the sexiest thing when I wear flats." Although Jerry was unable to make dinner due to a work engagement out of state, the comedian did manage to fly in post-dessert for the after-party deejayed by Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor . The dinner raised just shy of $300,000.

According to Malcolm Carfrae , the two requirements for a proper Australian bash are "beautiful people" and "plenty of alcohol." Both elements were on hand last night at The Skylark rooftop lounge, where Carfrae held his sixth annual Australians in New York Fashion Foundation summer cocktail party. Francisco Costa , Italo Zucchelli , Jason Wu , and Carfrae's fellow Aussie Julie Anne Quay all turned out, but there was a less ample supply of booze. "Australians drink a lot," confirmed Tome's Ramon Martin , who was co-hosting the party with his design partner, Ryan Lobo. Down at the Standard's East Village rooftop, Emporio Armani and Standard Sounds were throwing a little fete of their own. While Nightmares on Wax and Ewan Pearson deejayed, Mia Moretti , Julia Restoin Roitfeld , and Michael Avedon sipped vino and took in the sweeping views of lower Manhattan. Overheard: "I want it to stay summer forever; it feels like fashion week is just around the corner."

At the Museum of Modern Art, meanwhile, the Cinema Society and Mont Blanc-sponsored premiere of A Most Wanted Man was unusually solemn given the recent death of its star, Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film is an adaptation of John le Carré's spy novel of the same name. "The hardest part was to simplify such a magnificent book, which was a challenge with all the layers and the characters," director Anton Corbijn told Style.com. "Most of all I wanted people to see how great Philip Seymour Hoffman is. I think he left an amazing performance behind." Mick Jagger and Pat Cleveland were in the after-party crowd. The latter took a glass-half-full approach to the serious evening: "We all have to die eventually—at least Philip got to die a star."

Garden of Edun

Why did Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson , host a sunset cocktail party at their home in the South of France last night? "We're Irish," said Hewson. "It's what we do; we invite people into our homes."

Bellinis, frothy from fresh-pressed peach juice, were served up as the first of a three-act evening celebration in conjunction with MyTheresa, the online luxury retailer that has mastered the art of the feel-good fashion fete. The guests who gathered on the couple's terrace, set within a marvelously unpopulated strip of the Côte d'Azur, had come to toast Edun's entrance into the MyTheresa fold, where it will soon be found nestled between Eddie Borgo and Emilio Pucci. And because all parties need a guest of honor, that distinction was bestowed upon Edun's Danielle Sherman , who, in just two seasons, has steered Bono and Hewson's fashion brand toward an elusive sweet spot of African craft and contemporary currency.

The spectacular setting rendered Leonardo DiCaprio 's presence something just shy of a footnote. If his goal was to keep a low profile, it was only unsuccessful to the extent that the butt of his e-cigarette beamed a conspicuous green light as he puffed away through dinner (let this irony not go unnoticed by Fitzgerald fans). Dasha Zhukova , seated next to Bono and wearing a red dress from Vika Gazinskaya's & Other Stories collaboration, seemed sufficiently amused by the vapor stick to sneak one into her purse. Indeed, there was something undeniably toned down to what was, in fact, a rather tony gathering. Maybe it had something to do with Spike Jonze offering up lighthearted chitchat (specifically, a fictional parallel career as an engineer of 3-D-printed underwater bridges). Or that Edun's muses for the night—Marie-Josée Croze , Daisy Lowe , Hanneli Mustaparta , and Mimi Xu—doffed their heels to traverse the stony shoreline separating Casa Hewson from the casual seaside restaurant Anjuna. Here, T-shirts posing the question "Where's my fucking yacht?" decorated the entrance, and boxes stuffed with vegetable crudités adorned the group's extra-long table.

At some point between the family-style platters of salmon and beef carpaccio and the salt-crusted branzino, MyTheresa's Justin O'Shea and Bono had the 30 or so guests raising their Domaines Ott to bless the partnership. "The brands that succeed are the ones that are deliberate, and both of you have done such a fantastic job building something that will now go on forever," said O'Shea. Bono perceptively joked that O'Shea resembled Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor and then applied the imagery to Edun. "These baby brands, they get legs, get strong, get into the ring. I want to thank Ali; she sees the sensitivity and the pain of the journey, because it's tough to make clothes in Africa," he said. "But things got very interesting when Danielle arrived. She saw this modernity in the ancient materials and textiles of that continent. To see it finally take fight—as well as flight—because of the assembled team is really humbling for me. What a wonderful occasion, what a wonderful night."

Those with the endurance for Act III were invited for a nightcap at Jimmy'z in Monaco. DiCaprio made a Cinderella exit (presumably to rest up for his own charity party tonight in Saint-Tropez), but nearly all the others willingly obliged.

A Whole Lotta Lottie

Keeping the party scene cool in the midst of London's summer heat wave, Calvin Klein Jeans' Kevin Carrigan and MyTheresa's Justin O'Shea celebrated their new collaboration at the Rosenfeld Porcini gallery in Fitzrovia last night. The Re-Issue Project is a nine-piece capsule collection that reimagines the emblematic denim, sweatshirt, and tees originally worn in the company's iconic ads of the eighties and nineties. Daisy Lowe , Tallulah Harlech , and Amber Le Bon turned up to see the line's campaign, which stars Lottie Moss , little sister to supermodel Kate.

Two decades after her big sis starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the nineties-era ads, 16-year-old Lottie just signed with Storm Models. "The photos are great, and all the pieces in the collection are pieces I would wear: young, nice, and fresh," Moss told Style.com. "My favorite is the big gray sweatshirt." The black-and-white portraits were snapped by Michael Avedon , 23-year-old grandson of Richard Avedon, who shot the groundbreaking (and controversial) 1981 campaign with Brooke Shields featuring the infamous tagline, "You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing." Will these ads have the same potency as the originals? Check back with us in twenty or thirty years.

Psychic Connections

Last night at the Paris Theatre, Woody Allen premiered his latest flick, Magic in the Moonlight, a comedic caper set in the south of France circa the 1920s. The plot revolves around a single question: Is Emma Stone 's character, Sophie, a clairvoyant medium or a phony? "Woody called me for the part," Stone told Style.com. "And filming was pretty much exactly how I thought it would be." Clairvoyant, indeed. Rumor has it Stone is already slated to star in Allen's next film.

After the screening, guests moseyed a few blocks east for an after-party at Harlow, where sponsor Dolce & Gabbana had lined the walls with fresh roses. ("It definitely smells like the south of France in here," one guest remarked.) The likes of Christina Hendricks , Dane DeHaan , and Audrey Tautou turned out, and the film's Provençal setting skewed the evening's conversation toward how badly everyone wanted a French holiday. Mia Moretti talked about her recent trip to Paris for Couture: "It's less of a scene than the ready-to-wear shows. I stayed in a friend's apartment in the Sixth, and it actually felt like more of a vacation than running around." Côte d'Azur or the Upper East Side, Stone didn't seem to care much where she was—she spent the whole night cozied up in a booth with boyfriend Andrew Garfield .

Meanwhile, ballet star and the Bolshoi's only American dancer, David Hallberg , had a debut of his own when he performed Swan Lake for the first time at Lincoln Center. The handsome danseur noble was the guest of honor afterward at a dinner hosted by Russian fashion and art VIPs Nasiba Adilova and Maria Baibakova , among others at Lincoln Ristorante.

Party Favors

Partygoers braved thunderstorms last night for a trio of parties downtown and up. First, the opening of Fendi's Soho pop-up on the corner of Prince and Greene. Claire Distenfeld , Leandra Medine , and Tali Lennox turned out, but the guest of honor was none other than Karl Lagerfeld himself—in furry keychain form, that is. "I love Karl, but I especially love a fluffy Karl," said Distenfeld. Guests took turns snapping Instagram pictures with the charm. One even tried walking out the door with Karlito snapped on his belt before a Fendi rep snatched it back. "I like that Fendi doesn't take itself seriously," Medine said, "although it's as luxury as luxury comes."

At Industria Studios in the West Village, Veuve Clicquot toasted the launch of Clicquot Mail, a new case offering in the shape of a classic mailbox. Champagne was passed from the Clicquot Mail truck, servers wore mailman uniforms, and guests could order a bottle of Veuve to be mailed anywhere they liked. The party had people talking about their affection for good old-fashioned snail mail. "I've never received a love letter in the mail," said model Gabriela Lopez . "But I think I'd much rather receive some champagne."

Up on Fifth Avenue, the ubiquitous Jeff Koons was celebrating another installation, this one at the new H&M flagship. Images of his famous Balloon Dog were prominently displayed on the store's five floors of windows, and inside, his Balloon Dog leather bag, priced at $49.95, was going fast.

This Is Fifty

How is a Paris museum gala different from a New York museum gala? "You can smoke." Emmanuelle Alt said it herself last night at the inaugural Vogue Paris Foundation's dinner in honor of the contemporary collections at the Musée Galliera, which the event helped fund. The soiree coincided with the opening of the museum's Les Années 50 exhibition. A who's who of the world's most famous designers turned out, and yes, some of them were lighting up. Balmain's Olivier Rousteing arrived arm in arm with Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner . Alber Elbaz brought Kristin Scott Thomas . Even designers in absentia didn't do badly. Nicolas Ghesquière didn't make it, but his flower print minidress from Louis Vuitton Resort was a perfect fit for Adèle Exarchopoulus . Another difference? Milliner Stephen Jones , who sat with the Schiaparelli clan, was taking iPhone pics of the insides of the dresses in the exhibition (straight up from the hem) without so much as a second glance from the guards. "I did it at the Charles James show at the Met and I got in a bit of trouble."

It was an unusually cold and drizzly summer night in Paris and inside the Palais Brongniart, Lancôme continued to make it rain—showering guests with gallons of gold and pink confetti in honor of the brand's Nouvelle Vague collection (a trio of luxury makeup bags designed by Alexandre Vauthier , Yiqing Yin, and Jacquemus ). While Vauthier's black-and-gold clutch seemed to be the favorite among attendees (most notably spotted in the hands of Kate Winslet ), others like Leigh Lezark doubled up: "I'm carrying Alexandre's bag and wearing a Jacquemus dress," she said. For Caroline de Maigret , the newest member of the Lancôme family (she's creating her own range of makeup with the brand next year), the evening's fete was also her coming-out party. "What I really like [about joining the company]," she noted, "is that I'm allowed to have flaws."

Paris on the Rocks

Cocktail hour started early yesterday—mid-afternoon, to be precise—at the Baccarat headquarters in the 16th arrondissement, where the French heritage brand held first-look screenings of its Love Story trilogy. Of her first-ever speaking role, in the slightly complicated (and deeply French) vignette by Sonia Sieff , Caroline de Maigret admitted that she nearly backed out. "I had knots in my stomach constantly. But in the end, tackling something I didn't know how to do was liberating." So liberating, in fact, that she'll be taking on her first short film this fall.

In the evening, summer showers dampened the garden portion of the Bulgari party, but given that the venue was a 19th-century mansion that's currently home to the gastronomic restaurant Apicius, no one was much bothered. "It's winter back home in Australia, I've got no complaints," said actor Eric Bana , who confessed to a "soft spot for the greens" among the gems paraded at the evening's fashion show. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy leaned more toward the diamonds, but added that she loved the candy-chic look of the bracelet she was wearing. "To me, jewelry is made of memories and history, like perfume. Bulgari brings me back to my roots, my childhood, because it's part of a major legend in Cinecittà and fashion," said France's former first lady. "I became French when I married five years ago. But I love having the chance to be Italian again!" Speaking of Italian, Fendi threw a party at its Avenue Montaigne store to introduce the world to Karlito. The little doll Cara Delevingne toted down the label's Fall runway in February has multiplied; we expect to see them popping up all over the shows in September.

The Germany-Brazil World Cup match was getting started as the first courses arrived at Just One Eye's dinner for jeweler Wilfredo Rosado at Caviar Kaspia. By the time the famous baked potatoes emerged from the kitchen, it was 5-0. Alix Duvernoy , a Brazilian who was making the rounds at couture for the first time, wasn't pleased. Rosado himself had tickets to Sunday's final, but sold them. "I've never been to Rio," he said. Instead, he'll take his holidays in Europe. As of halftime, he was still deliberating between Budapest and Prague.

Foreign Legions

Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel show got the couture set out of bed early today, but it was double C's of a different sort who kept them out last night. Colette's Sarah Lerfel and Coach's Stuart Vevers gathered friends like Caroline de Maigret , Fabien Baron , Aurélie Bidermann, and Camille Bidault Waddington at Verjus for a late dinner. De Maigret was talking up her upcoming book, and Bidermann was buzzing about her new New York store. As for Vevers himself, he said that when August comes he's headed to Peru to do some hiking in the mountains.

Over in the Seventh, the Italian ambassador Giandomenico Magliano and his wife threw a party for the shoe designer Gianvito Rossi . The cause célèbre was Rossi's recent collaboration with the German website MyTheresa; celebrity-watching was what kept the crowd occupied, though. Jared Leto , last spotted in Paris at Miu Miu in March, made a cameo appearance.

Earlier at the Gagosian Gallery, the cocktail party thrown by Eugenie Niarchos for her jewelry line, Venyx, drew a steady stream of guests on their way to and from the day's final shows. One early arrival was Mario Testino , who said, "I've been watching Eugenie for a long time. She's got such innate elegance, and what she sees is so pretty," So pretty, in fact, that he put in a little word with the designer about recasting a moonstone ring as a pair of cuff links. "I've spent so many years looking at jewelry, and I don't know if it's age, but when I was getting ready for the Met Gala, I thought I might like something nice of my own," he said.

White Light, White Heat

"I don't know them well, but let's have a hand for the bride and groom!" Jack White boomed from the Palais d'Iéna stage. At the invitation of Miuccia Prada , the rocker and his band sandwiched a gig for the Miu Miu crowd between two concerts for 50,000 in Poland and Denmark. Last night's audience was a tiny fraction of that size—barely two hundred people—but White didn't scale back on the volume, which thumped in your chest and poured out through the open windows into the quiet Sixteenth. Up front and singing along were Freida Pinto , Gemma Arterton , Douglas Booth , and Nymphomaniac's Stacy Martin . Roman Polanski and Emmanuelle Seigner didn't linger for the show, but sat at the head table for dinner with Prada. The meal—gnocchi gnudi followed by vitello tonnato—was cooked by Prada's personal chef; monogrammed linen napkins from the designer's own collection were gathered up after the main course. Guests hoping to make off with a souvenir of the evening had to settle for the ringing in their ears, courtesy of White and co.

Snakes in the Grass

The Serpentine Gallery's annual to-do is London's party of the year. Last night's crowd was as glittery as ever: Keira Knightley , Orlando Bloom , Dakota Johnson, Mark Ruffalo, Lily Allen , and Bryan Ferry all turned up. Brendan Mullane, creative director of Brioni, who hosted the event alongside Marina Abramovic , André Balazs , and François-Henri Pinault , among others, told Style.com that partnering with the iconic London gallery was an organic process: "Brioni has deep cultural links instilled in its heritage—performance, art, and craftsmanship are at our core, so for us, getting involved seemed like a natural thing to do. When the opportunity presented itself, we jumped at the chance."

This year's pavilion, a giant cylindrical fiberglass structure designed by the Chilean architect Smiljan Radic, had partygoers wondering what it was. A pod? A helmet? A spaceship? A half-eaten doughnut? The guesses got more interesting as the evening progressed. Another attraction was the "Laboratory of Sound"—an "intelligent glass" box created by The Vinyl Factory that the DJs could manipulate to go completely dark. If Bradley Cooper and Suki Waterhouse were looking to get in some private time, that feature would have come in handy.

It was also fashion's night out: Cara Delevingne , Riccardo Tisci , Prabal Gurung , Christopher Kane, Natalie Massenet, and many more rushed to the stage when a distinctive hat was spotted. Let's just say there were some very happy Pharrell Williams fans in the crowd. Matthew Williamson summed up the evening best: "I knew tonight was going to be fun, I just didn't think it was going to be this much fun."

Berluti Al Dente

After a garden show at Paris' École des Mines on Friday, Berluti took advantage of the warm Paris evening to stage a cooking showdown of sorts featuring pasta in all shapes and sizes whipped up by friends of the brand, including Benn Northover , Jefferson Hack , Jean-Baptiste Mondino , Alexandre de Betak , and Joseph Dirand .

"I love gardens, and after the show it's time to be with friends—relaxed and nice," Berluti's Alessandro Sartori told Style.com. After table tennis and mini croquet, an eager crowd formed in front of each chef's station. Yorgo Tloupas , art director of Vanity Fair's French edition, served a version of kritharaki pasta with feta and herbs from his Greek childhood. "I made up the recipe, but it's based on a memory," said Tloupas. "I thought you could only find this kind of pasta in Greece, but Paris has everything." Hack and Northover teamed with chef Michele Farnese for aglio e olio, a simple dish with garlic, olive oil, and parsley. "We had the sweetest chilis flown in from Morocco and we added bread crumbs," Hack reported. "Michele also taught me a trick: Add salty cooking water to the sauce when you mix it with the pasta."

Mondino, for his part, dished out Italian actor Ugo Tognazzi's celebrated recipe for fresh tomato pasta alla checca, while architect Dirand put together a penne all'amatriciana based on a recipe belonging to his wife. As the dinner drew to a close, De Betak, who served kale pesto fusilli, summed up the logistics of a great party: "It's a question of family. We all know them, they all know us. There are five hundred guests and we're five guys cooking. That's one hundred for each of us."

On Saturday, Barneys New York and Marcelo Burlon got showgoers together to celebrate Oklahoma City Thunder point guard and budding designer Russell Westbrook 's limited-edition collection for the store. There was no pasta, but there was plenty of foie gras and filet de bar roti.

Jeff’s World

"It's just epic," spake Larry Gagosian . And it was so. The gallery titan was referring to client Jeff Koons ' Split-Rocker, a mammoth floral sculpture lately debuted at Rockefeller Center. Part Pop Art, part playground, the artwork stands nearly 40 feet tall, covered in more than 50,000 flowers for an effect that's both wondrous and faintly terrifying. An art-establishment-heavy cadre including Richard Prince, Jeffrey Deitch , Bill Cunningham, Leelee Sobieski , Brice Marden , Whitney director Adam Weinberg, and Gloria von Thurn und Taxis turned out this afternoon to The Sea Grill to fete the work. Split-Rocker's unveiling coincides with the massive Koons retrospective bowing this week at the Whitney (the last exhibition ever at its soon-to-shutter Madison Avenue location), whose opening reception last night had a heavyweight guest list of its own: Cindy Sherman , Alek Wek , Arianna Huffington, John Currin , and Rachel Feinstein all raised a glass or two. At least a couple of younger members of the Koons clan were spotted racing between tables at lunch, as just a few feet away on the patio, Gagosian admired the installation amid friends, offering up his take on the populist piece. "I think Jeff's work kind of straddles two things: It's very sophisticated, extremely well-executed, but it also has universal appeal. If you know a lot about his work and the history of sculpture, you can understand how it fits in there, and if you're just somebody passing by, you've gotta smile when you look at it."

Sama and Haya Abu Khadra's Makeup Bag Must-Haves

Forte Bravo

Did you know Ermanno Scervino convinced Kanye West to wed Kim K. at Florence's Forte Belvedere? "It's the most beautiful place in Florence," said the designer, whose own fete at the medieval fortress drew West back to the Italian city yesterday evening. "When I was a kid I used to come here, and the fact that I managed to do something at Forte Belvedere is like a dream come true." Indeed, his party was something out of a New Age fairy tale, but more on that later.

The festivities began with Equilibrium, an enlightening exhibition at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, launched in honor of Firenze: Hometown of Fashion and the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana's sixtieth anniversary. The show featured some of Mr. Ferragamo's archived (and very ahead of their time) shoes from the thirties, forties, fifties, and sixties, but it also explored the designer's expansive anatomical studies of the foot. "Equilibrium is the most important part of the Ferragamo story, but it's not easy to tell because it's so technical," offered the museum's director, Stefania Ricci. To help guests such as Pitti Immagine CEO Raffaello Napoleone grasp the idea, Ricci lined the walls with Ferragamo's detailed drawings. Also included was a giant metal shank, an exaggerated version of the one Ferragamo used to create arch support. This, Ferragamo wrote in his autobiography, guides "the equilibrium of the body as it walks, instead of fighting against it." In addition to the shoes, Ricci brought in artworks—such as ancient Roman sculptures, a Brancusi, a Rodin, and two films by Bruce Nauman—that highlighted the feet and the beauty of balance. "I hope that after this exhibition, people will think about walking in another way," said Ricci.

At 8:30 it was time to cross the Arno River and head to Scervino's extravaganza. A lot of equilibrium was required to navigate the seemingly endless flights of stone stairs, but once guests reached the top, the trek seemed worth it. The likes of Francesco Vezzoli and Franca Sozzani sipped champagne while enjoying breathtaking views of Florence and Il Duomo. And Scervino took advantage of the scenery, using it as the backdrop for a presentation of his capsule collection, dubbed The White Renaissance. The silver, gray, and white menswear range was an ode to Salle Bianca, the birthplace of Italian fashion. There were a few womenswear looks, too. A pair of models donned gowns in dusty rose and icy blue, and the hues blended with a sky painted by the setting sun. It was like the calm before the storm, the storm being the arrival of West, who befriended Scervino after visiting his boutique in Florence. According to designer Virgil Abloh, who accompanied the rapper, the pair had just flown in from Cannes.

Following a prolonged, frenzied photo op, attendees headed down (more) stairs to dinner and enjoyed a three-course meal while listening to a live string quartet. And as if the insane views, historic location, fashion show, and Kanye cameo weren't enough, Boy George hit the decks after dessert, playing to a riotous, albeit very well dressed, crowd. Even Suzy Menkes broke it down on the dance floor. "Firenze: Hometown of Fashion is a celebration of the last sixty years," mused Scervino. "Hopefully this is the start of the next sixty."

24-Hour Pitti People

When your evening kicks off with a nude man splayed across a bed of money in a Florentine street, you know you're in for a wild one. Last night, Pitti Uomo-goers skipped between parties and exhibitions scattered across Florence, none of which were to be missed. It all began with the 5 p.m. opening of Francesco Vezzoli 's Vezzoli Primavera-Estate, a three-museum installation of the Italian artist's irreverent work. Playing a game of sorts, editors, buyers, and designers explored the ornate rooms of Museo di Casa Martelli, Museo Bellini, and Museo Bardini, trying to spot Vezzoli's paintings and sculptures, which were inserted among those of Renaissance masters. Placed among images of saints and old-world aristocrats, renderings of Nicki Minaj provoked chuckles from more than a few guests, and a shrine surrounding an illuminated self-portrait of the artist seemed the ultimate comment on (and display of) egoismo.

Outside Casa Martelli, painter and performance artist Vaclav Pisvejc produced a very different kind of shrine: He disrobed, lay down atop a heap of (faux) dollar bills, and held out an abstracted portrait of Vezzoli. Regardless of the fashion set's opinions on the stunt, Pisvejc's statement against excess and "The Fabulously Wealthy" (hopefully) gave them something to think about between champagne-fueled fetes.

But it wasn't all bare bums and anticapitalist demonstrations. This season's fair marks the sixtieth anniversary of the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana. Pitti has used the occasion to celebrate Florence and five fashion houses with Florentine origins: Emilio Pucci, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ermanno Scervino, and Roberto Cavalli. At Palazzo Vecchio—a medieval fortress that serves as the city's town hall—Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani opened Florence & Fashion, a photography show honoring the abovementioned brands. "Italian fashion was born in Florence with the Sala Bianca, and it's important that people know that," said Sozzani. "Of course, today it's about Milan, but it all started here."

Meanwhile, down the road at Palazzo Pucci, Peter Dundas and CEO Laudomia Pucci toasted the brand's impressive installation at—or rather, on—the Baptistery of Piazza San Giovanni. "It's the first time in Florence's history that anyone has done anything like this," offered Pucci of the project. And it's unlikely anyone will do it again—the house covered the Baptistery in more than 20,000 square meters of canvas printed with Pucci's 1957 Battistero motif. Fittingly, the pattern was inspired by the religious landmark. "So many important fashion houses have their roots in Florence," said Dundas at the party, which also featured an exhibition of archived Pucci wares. "It was the capital of Europe, and it has this intense saturation of history. For me and for Emilio Pucci himself, Florence was a source of inspiration."

Just before Giotto's Bell Tower struck 9, it was Gucci time. The house opened its Gucci Museo to the public free of charge yesterday and, at night, hosted a lavish festa. Gucci, too, had a present for Florence: an enchanting light show designed by Mario Nann. The artist projected a poem, "Da Sempre per Sempre," on the museum's exterior. Tourists, locals, and fashion insiders alike gathered in Piazza Della Signoria to ooh, ahh, and, of course, Instagram the display. In fact, Gucci's lights drew almost as many onlookers as our naked artist friend—not quite, but almost.

Little House, Big House

"We love London, its energy and excitement," said Tommy Hilfiger at a dinner last night that he cohosted with Jonathan Newhouse , chairman of Condé Nast International. The elegant affair, held at Mayfair's Little House, was ostensibly in honor of LC:M, but in fact it's become a seasonal event to celebrate Hilfiger's affection for all things British, especially the U.K.'s preparatory school aesthetic, which of course has been the anchor of his brand.

Jefferson Hack , his girlfriend Tati Cotliar , Philip Green (who at dinner's end rolled out a cake for birthday girl Elizabeth Saltzman), and more discussed the day's LC:M events and how, miraculously, the sched rolled on time. Others were buzzing about the Christopher Kane coat the Duchess of Cambridge wore that day, while new designer David Gandy , ever the gentleman, politely deflected questions about that video with J.Lo.

Also in attendance were Hilfiger's wife, Dee Ocleppo , and daughter Elizabeth, both of whom are in the beginning stages of launching their own fashion empires: Ocleppo has a new line of "3-in-1" premium handbags, which are available at Harrods, while the young Hilfiger whipped out her iPhone to show us pics of her evolving line of ethical clothes: "It's so different from anything my dad does," she said, "but still, I hope this does him proud."

Raising Funds, Having Fun

It's been a busy week on the fashion circuit, with galas, store openings, and designer dinners. Last night it was the Young Friends of ACRIA's turn to get its party on. The soiree, hosted in the cavernous hall of the Highline Stages, has always been "the fun young peoples' event," explained event chair Jason Wu from his seat between Adriana Lima and Jaime King . But it's also something more. "You really stop to think: What does it mean to do something for somebody else?" Wu noted. "This is where the conversation starts."

Since getting involved with the HIV and AIDS research and care nonprofit ("The first event I did with them was on a rooftop where we didn't have any heat: We only served cold foods and I thought it was a chic thing!" remembered Wu), the designer has taken his commitment to the next level. He curated this year's fashion photography auction, which kept guests sneaking out of the dinner to bid on images by Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, and more. "I'm on my fourth glass of wine and I'm still running in and out to kind of bid on the Rick Owens, so we'll see!" Bryan Grey Yambao told Style.com from his seat at the central table. "Maybe I'll get something—but it's so hard to compete! For example, Jaime King—Jaime is, like, really on it. She keeps on going out…"

"The people who are sitting here, they're going to be the next influences in the world," mused Wu as the auction came to a close. "And I feel very honored to be able to get everybody together. And on a selfish level, it is a fun party! You know? Who doesn't love that."

Posh at the Mic

Net-a-Porter celebrated Victoria Beckham with a Bowery Hotel dinner last night. Tennessee Thomas deejayed the cocktail hour (make that hours—Beckham arrived very fashionably late) and recalled early memories of VB: "Well, Victoria had all the best lines in Spice World. She was all about sophistication, which was hugely influential on me. A young girl has got to learn it from somewhere, so why not the Spice Girls?" NAP founder Natalie Massenet shared a story from her days at Tatler, when she styled a couture shoot at the Ritz with a young Victoria Adams. The pop star had never been shot without her fellow bandmates. (She had also just gone on a date with some footballer by the name of David Beckham.) "I don't think in that room at the Ritz, Victoria ever knew that one day she would be honored as one of the best designers in the U.K., but she is very, very driven. There are so many people here tonight whose careers have grown and changed over the years—hopefully everyone realizes how far their dreams have taken them." When Beckham finally made her toast to the room, servers passed out shots of tequila with lime wedges. "We have to not behave ourselves," she said. "We have to drink a lot and dance a lot this evening—and maybe I'll get back on the microphone."

Meanwhile, guests including Leandra Medine , Dree Hemingway, and Chloe Norgaard joined Clare Waight Keller and architect Joseph Dirand in raising a glass to Chloé's divine new digs on Madison Avenue. The renovation earned a rave from Maggie Gyllenhaal , too, earlier spotted test-driving a pair of the line's oversize summer shades. "I've been wearing a lot of Chloé lately. I've been very drawn to it because it's both very easygoing and refined at the same time—which I can't always achieve, but which is what I'm always going for!"

Style was a talking point of Alber Elbaz 's speech at the FIT Gala. The Lanvin designer introduced one of the evening's three award winners, Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo . "We're living in a world all about machinery and high tech, but fashion remains a human industry, because all we are is a bunch of seamstresses—dreams, a yard of fabric, a needle, and a thread. And in this world, you, Linda, remain different, unique, and very loyal. How rare is that?"

Stella McCartney Just Wants to Have Fun

There's a sculpture garden on Elizabeth Street that New Yorkers pass every day, nearly an acre in size yet relatively sleepy compared with the bustling streets of its surrounding neighborhood. The doors are usually locked, but not last night. Stella McCartney brought the space to life with her annual garden party. In addition to models wearing her new Resort collection (more on that here), there were statue performers, a live band, and a food truck dispensing root beer floats, lavender margaritas, and Veuve Clicquot.

A range of McCartney's high-profile pals attended— Maggie Gyllenhaal , Amber Heard , Lorne Michaels , and Peter Beard included. "Stella just has the best taste," Liv Tyler said. "The good thing about these parties is that she lets me bring home some of the decor. I go home with piñatas, balloons, whatever…my son, Milo, loves it."

Models were scattered throughout the garden, some on a giant chessboard, others dancing and blowing bubbles. It was all in the spirit of McCartney's new collection. "Fashion is supposed to be about having a good time," the designer told Style.com. "So often fashion constrains women and makes them feel like rubbish. For me, the Stella woman is about celebration, feeling alive and free and colorful. I want the girls to have fun, the boys to have fun—in fact, I want to have fun. Don't you?"

Making Eyes at Charlotte Casiraghi

"Passion project" is how Gucci's creative director, Frida Giannini , referred to the Italian fashion powerhouse's much-anticipated makeup collection launching in September—an enterprise three years in the making. The Carlyle Hotel served as the backdrop for the big reveal last night, with one room wrapped in LCD screens playing the Charlotte Casiraghi -fronted ad campaign. Post-video, a brief blackout preceded the main attraction: a brightly lit glass case filled with logo-covered lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes.

Solange Knowles , Anja Rubik , and Pat McGrath came out to celebrate the launch, which included a performance by the Aussie sister act Say Lou Lou . "I'm a mascara freak, so I'm excited to try theirs," said actress Kate Mara , also in the crowd. Giannini also qualifies: "From your eyes you can really exude your confidence and sexuality—you can be very provocative, you can be very feminine, you can be very tough," she said. Asked if there was one beauty move a Gucci girl would never make, she added, "I don't think so. The Gucci woman always takes a risk."

Meanwhile, in the Waverly Inn's back garden, friends, editors, and fans gathered to celebrate Giuseppe Zanotti 's twenty years in the biz. "I'm not a young designer anymore," laughed Zanotti while passing out baci to his guests. "I felt like a student for a long time. Now I feel like the professor." But after the designer reminisced about presenting his early collections at the Plaza Hotel two decades ago, the maestro of saucy footwear insisted he's not settling down. "I love a new challenge. Shoes are an enormous universe, and with energy and passion, you can always discover new things," he said. As for the next twenty years? "I want to do shoes that have emotion," he told us. "And I want to do something new for the foot that feels even more sexy!"

Chiming In

"It's rainy outside, but it's sunny in here," Frida Giannini said at the Gucci Fifth Avenue boutique last night. The party crowd braved humid summer rain to toast the one-year anniversary of the Sound of Change, a concert fundraiser that kick-started Chime for Change, a charity founded by Giannini, Beyoncé Knowles , and Salma Hayek Pinault. Although Hayek Pinault couldn't attend (she's filming a movie), Gucci faces Blake Lively and James Franco stopped by in support. And the mood at the party was just as Giannini said: sunny. In its first year, the organization has sponsored more than three hundred philanthropic projects aimed at empowering women in more than eighty countries.

Although it's not every day Gucci's creative director is stateside, Giannini told Style.com that she always finds inspiration on the streets of New York: "I love it here. I love to walk around in the Village and also Central Park. Watching the people is great here because there is such a mix you don't see anywhere else."

Speaking of people-watching, all eyes were on Beyoncé when she arrived wearing a white Gucci jumpsuit and, as CFDA-nominated jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher pointed out, not a single piece of jewelry. Said Fisher: "Sometimes not accessorizing is just as good as accessorizing. The hair, that skin…she looks flawless." The party reached its peak when Beyoncé announced a personal donation of $500,000 to the organization, and her sister, Solange Knowles , who hasn't been seen publicly with Bey since the Met Gala, took to the deejay booth.

Après the CFDAs, More Parties

The celebrating didn't stop for International Award winner Raf Simons when the CFDAs wrapped last night. Dior CEO Sidney Toledano hosted a party in the designer's honor at the Ladurée shop on West Broadway, and the sprawling Parisian-style café had Simons and co. experiencing some French joie de vivre. We spied Keri Russell and Karlie Kloss ogling the macaron case, Russell telling Kloss, "I mean, they are just so good, how can you not?"

A host of CFDA winners, nominees, and past honorees turned out, including Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow of Public School, who told us that despite their Menswear Designer of the Year win tonight there will be no day off. "School will not be canceled tomorrow," Chow said. "Public School is definitely in session. Winning just makes us want to work that much harder." Swarovski Menswear Award winner Tim Coppens , for his part, was almost awestruck. "It's huge for me to even be nominated, but when you win—I mean, whoa, I won a prize—it's really something special. And to be here tonight with all the other winners, it's like I'm really part of something; it's so vindicating."

After midnight, many guests bid adieu to Ladurée and headed to the Top of the Standard for a party that was busy until well after 3 a.m. Prabal Gurung , Joan Smalls , and Olivier Theyskens were in the crowd. Pamela Love told Style.com she was actually happy not to be nominated, to have no crazy nerves. "I'm just happy to get dressed up." She spent the evening dancing with her friend, Swarovski Accessories Designer of the Year Irene Neuwirth.

The 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Our complete coverage of the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards will be posted shortly. In the meantime, please enjoy this slideshow, and don't miss our features on Tom Ford, Raf Simons, and the evening's other honorees.

Diversity and Inclusion

It takes a lot to get a fashion crowd together on a Sunday evening in June, the night before the CFDA Awards no less, but the second annual Fashion Centered dinner supporting The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center did the trick. Not that cocktails alfresco in the garden of the Center's West 13th Street headquarters was twisting anybody's arm. Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea and Joseph Altuzarra took the opportunity to compare plans for their upcoming nuptials. Altuzarra's mother, Karen, was also in attendance, as were Alexander Wang ; Ryan Korban; Kering's Laurent Claquin ; and Narciso Rodriguez and his husband, Thomas Tolan .

Over dinner, Isaac Mizrahi surprised guests with an impromptu song performance, but it was Barneys' Mark Lee who stole the show, sharing a touching personal anecdote about growing up gay in 1970s San Francisco—"I marched in our Pride parade against Anita Bryant!"—and personally donating $20,000 to support The Center's programming.

In the end, the evening raised more than $150,000. So naturally, the Center's executive director, Glennda Testone, hopes to keep nurturing the relationship between fashion and her organization. "There's such a natural marriage between fashion and the LGBT community," she told Style.com. "The fashion industry celebrates people expressing themselves and being who they are. A lot of LGBT kids find solace in fashion, and a lot of fashion folks look to our community and our icons for inspiration."

Earlier, some of the same faces were in the mix at Marquee, where Naomi Campbell and Iman were throwing a 1970s-style Sunday tea dance party for Bethann Hardison , who'll pick up the Founder's Award at the CFDA Awards tonight for her diversity advocacy. Introducing the woman of the hour, Tyson Beckford said, "Tonight is about my manager, my heart, Mama B, Bethann Hardison. Bethann has led us in this fight to make sure that each and every one of you young colored people can have a life like Tyson Beckford, like Naomi Campbell, like Iman…You the stylists, the photographers, the bookers, you can control this. The models will show up. Fuck racism. Up with diversity."

Ponying Up

If you've been wondering how Nacho Figueras ' pelvis is doing, rest assured. "It's back in business," he told Style.com on Saturday. Fashion's favorite polo player had to sit out last year's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic because of a broken tailbone, but this time around he returned to Liberty State Park with every intention of winning, even if he was playing it cool wardrobe-wise. Figueras skipped his signature haberdashery (he's been the face of Ralph Lauren Black Label since 2005) and instead opted for a blazer, jeans, and Rolling Stones tee. Why so casual?

"Well, I woke up like this, I felt like the Rolling Stones." Everyone else, on the other hand, seemed to take dressing up rather seriously. "Fashion loves a polo match," said Steven Kolb . "It's all about showing off your linen, your khaki, your sunglasses." Not to mention a sensible pair of shoes. At halftime, guests took to the pitch for the obligatory round of divot stomping. Actress Dakota Johnson was wearing Tabitha Simmons flats. "I'm excited because it's a saying I use in real life—one should always fix one's divots," she said. "That's why I wore these!"

"I enjoy dressing up. But I do also enjoy dressing down," Lupita Nyong'o remarked as she took in the match alongside friend Olivia Munn and their mutual stylist, Micaela Erlanger. Carly Cushnie of Cushnie et Ochs went as far as to wonder if the crowd, which also included Julianne Moore and Busy Philipps , was actually paying attention. "It's about dressing up, the colors, the champagne, watching beautiful men on beautiful horses. Is anyone really watching the sport?" If they were, they would have noticed that Figueras led his Black Watch team to a 12-10 victory over the Veuve Clicquot opposition.
