What Cara Wants

Untamed but civilized, quirky yet tasteful—you could describe both Cara Delevingne and the U.K.'s Wilderness Festival that way. "I am British and this is a very British festival, so it just makes a whole lot of sense to me," said Delevingne about the decision to launch her new bag collection, designed with another very British institution, Mulberry, at the weekend-long event. Glancing around at the gorgeous walled garden on a countryside estate in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, she added, "This is all so me."

Now in its fourth year, the Wilderness Festival brings together musical, culinary, literary, and theatrical stars. This year's headliners were London Grammar, Metronomy, Burt Bacharach, Jessie Ware, and Sam Smith. Mulberry's picnic, complete with a goodie-bag-stuffed vintage Land Rover dubbed the Cara-van, was a bustling get-together of London friends and familiar industry faces. Actor Douglas Booth said he'd known Delevingne for a long time. Also on hand: model Jade Parfitt , stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington, and cofounder of the Storm modeling agency Simon Chambers.

The model of the moment sported her new Cara Delevingne bag in oxblood natural leather. Its removable shoulder straps mean it can be worn as a tote or as a backpack; she said she was keen to create a collection that could keep up with the pace of a busy modern woman. That would explain why MyTheresa's buying director, Justin O'Shea , had his eye on the collection six months ago. He summarized, "It's very cool, very young, and very trendy."

World of Interiors

A store party on a summer Friday? It happened in L.A. this weekend, when Nicole Richie , florist Eric Buterbaugh , and Nevena Borissova celebrated interior designer Ryan Korban and his new book, Ryan Korban: Luxury Redefined, at Borissova's West Hollywood store, Curve. "He's a young designer who does retail very well," said Borissova, who collaborated with Korban on her Bond Street outpost. "We wanted to give him a big welcome to L.A.," she continued, pointing to walls plastered with life-size imagery from the book, which combines photos of interiors he's decorated and visuals from photographers like Inez & Vinoodh, Helmut Newton, and Peter Lindbergh that continue to inspire him.

Amber Valletta , Jessica Joffe , and Langley Fox all turned out to raise a glass. "When I'm in New York, I tend to go fashion-heavy," Korban said of setting the event in L.A., where he spends a good amount of time furniture shopping and immersing himself in the interior-design world. "I felt like here we should mix it up a bit and bring interesting people together and get them excited about interior design." One such enthusiast has been Alexander Wang , who enlisted Korban to decorate both his loft apartment and Soho flagship store, and also contributed to the book. "I think Ryan has incredible taste and really knows how to cater it to all different types of personalities," Wang said. "He's very aware of environments and how to make that environment play a big role, in the same way that I do in clothes and accessories."
